Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay spoke about the need to be futuristic while planning. “Taba has the opportunity to be built as an exemplary yanla throm and if we all work together we can fulfill His Majesty the King’s aspirations” Lyonchhen added.

Lyonchhen also informed the gathering that he will personally monitor the work. The work will be carried out by a Japanese company called Marushin Shitaka Construction Limited and is being funded by the World Bank.

Feeling nostalgic Lyonchhen said that both Finance Minister Namgay Dorji and Lyonchhen himself had played in these empty fields when they were small and said that Taba was “better” then. But because of changing time, development is needed, Lyonchhen added.
