His Majesty and Her Majesty are in Thailand for the Royal Funerary Rites for HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati and to offer condolences to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and the Royal Family of Thailand on the passing of Her Royal Highness.

Their Majesties in Thailand for Royal Funerary Rites

His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen are in Thailand for the Royal Funerary Rites for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati and to offer condolences to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and the Royal Family of Thailand on the passing of Her Royal Highness.

Their Majesties visited the Biman Rataya Throne Room at the Grand Palace in Bangkok, on 18 June 2026 where funerary rites are being held, and placed a wreath before the Royal Funeral Urn of Her Royal Highness.

Their Majesties then joined His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen of Thailand and Members of the Thai Royal Family to attend the royal merit-making ceremony on the seventh day following the passing of Her Royal Highness.

The Sattamvara, held in accordance with Thai Royal tradition and Buddhist practice, is a ceremony to dedicate merit and pay honour to the departed on the seventh day after the passing of a Royal Family member.

Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest daughter of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, passed away on 11 June 2026. The Kingdom of Thailand is currently observing a period of national mourning.

Following the ceremony, Their Majesties paid respects before the Royal Funeral Urn of Her Majesty the late Queen Mother of Thailand.
