Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) has arrested four people including one woman in connection with drug possession in September. All the four arrested are their mid 20s.
In total, Thimphu police has seized 2880 Sulphadoxine-Pyrimethamine (SP) capsules from the woman from her house on September 19. According to RBP, from the woman has a petty garment sales business.
RBP seized 582 SP capsules and 70 Nitrosun 10 (N10) tablets from 3 men. They were arrested on September 29 during a highway checking. The men were travelling from Phuentsholing to Thimphu in three different buses on same day. Police has seized 408 SP capsules from one of the men, 25, who is a freelance guide.
“From the second man who is just 22 years old, we have seized 70 tablets of N10 and he just have completed class 12,” RBP said, adding that from the third boy, 24, a fresh graduate, they have apprehended 174 SP capsules.
RBP has also detained a 29-year-old man, working in India, in possession of marijuana on the same day but he tested negative upon inspection.
