Thimphu police rounded up six youths on 13 December in connection with the stabbing of an 18 year old student and head and eye injury to two other students.
At around 10:30 pm on 12 December, Thimphu city police received a call from Babesa that a group of students, friends, were having an argument.
Police rushed to the scene and found one person lying unconscious with a head injury and another student behind the village restaurant in Babesa stabbed in the back.
Police evacuated both victims to the hospital. Police said that, if they did not reach the crime scene on time the stabbing victim might have died from cold and excessive bleeding. Police got hold of two other students who were there when the stabbing occurred.
According to their statement to police, they said that they were arguing but a fight never broke out between them. They stated that they another group of youth coming from the opposite direction beat them up.
Police said that, they were all class ten students spending time together after their board exam. The victim who got stabbed is in hospital and in stable condition. The victim with head injury has been discharged. All four students were released on surety.
