A 24-year-old man drowned in a swimming pool in Gelephu on June 22 at around 4:40 pm. The deceased was a monk in Zhemgang dratshang.
The deceased’s brother said that the deceased was suffering from ulcer for which he was referred to Gelephu referral hospital for the checkup.
The police official said the both deceased and his friend were not swimmers. During the time of incident, the deceased’s friend, also a monk, had managed to save himself. He then went searching for help to save his friend. The deceased was taken to hospital, however, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
