Police at Tshimasham, on the Thimphu–Phuentsholing highway, arrested three men in their 20s, with illegal substances last week.
On April 6, police arrested a 25-year-old employee of a private firm at around 9:30 pm. He was travelling in a taxi to Thimphu. Police seized 117 grams of Cannabis and 17 tablets of N10 from his possession. The suspect from Mongar was detained for further investigation.
The next evening around 9:00 pm, police apprehended two suspects from a public bus during a surprise highway check. The men, from Wangdue, who work as painters were carrying 8,640 capsules of SP and 14 tablets of N10 in a suitcase. Police also seized six capsules of SP from one suspect and 27 grams of Cannabis from another suspect.
The men told police they went to Phuentsholing to buy paints for their work in Wangdue and lost all their cash in the process.
