Phuentsholing police apprehended a 25-year-old man, from Deothang, Samdrupjongkhar, at the entry gate in Phuentsholing on May 16th at around 1pm.
Police arrested the person for the illegal possession of marijuana (cannabis), 17 grams of it hidden inside his underwear. The arrest was made possible with the information provided by police informers. The suspect works as a driver.
According to the police, the suspect has confessed of having purchased the substance from an unknown person in Manglabari, paying Nu 100 for self-consumption.
The suspect is under the custody of Phuentsholing police for further investigation.
