
In the ongoing Jigme Dorji Wangchuk Memorial National Archery Tournament two matches were played yesterday.
The matches played were the Eastern United vs BPC from Pool A and Sharchop Chukchi vs Jaro Dongchen from Pool B. After their first set, the Eastern United scored 25 points against BPC’s 6 points. And the Sharchop Chukchi scored 25 points to achieve victory over Jaro Dongchen’s 9 points.
The match will continue today at the Changlimithang grounds.
Eight matches have been played till now.
On the 1st and 2nd of March, the Eastern United defeated Trowa Chenga and Sharchop Chukchi defeated Gaeddu Tshongrig Thorimm Lobdra. Two matches were played on the 3rd and 4th where BPC defeated KNT and Jaro Dongchen defeated Gyeltshen Phuensum. On the 5th and 6th, CBD defeated Trowa Chuse and Damchen defeated BSMT.
On the 7th and 8th MoF defeated Pelbar Gyeltshen and Chari Tshen defeated MoIC.
The quarter finals will be played on the 14th and 15th of April and semi finals on the 17th and 18th April followed by finals on the 2nd and 3rd of May.
Most of the participants are truck drivers and taxi drivers. The matches begin at 8 am and end at 5 pm. When the match does not end on the same day, it continues on the next day.
