Body found in Namseling River

Thimphu police are investigating the death of man whose body was fished fished out from Namseling River near Namseling Archery ground on Thursday at around 5 PM.Local residents informed police of a body in the river.

The deceased was found wearing a brown under garment (underwear) with a black color Sungkay (holy thread) around his neck and a rubber band on his left wrist. A small laceration mark was spotted at the back of the head.

“The deceased is probably in his late 50’s or early 60’s and 5.6 m in height,” said police adding that the skin of the deceased was still fresh and this indicated the deceased might have drowned two to three days ago. The cause of death is not known. The body is in the Thimphu mortuary.
