Thimphu police have apprehended a 26-year-old man who is suspected to have been involved in auto theft and auto stripping.
On 22 January 2018, police received a complaint that an Alto car parked near JDWNRH Hospital was missing.
Police received another complaint, the same day, on auto stripping. The window of the car, i20, which was also parked in near JDWNRH was broken and things inside the car stolen.
Police received a third complaint the same day that a Maruti car was found abandoned near DANTAK canteen in Babesa after an accident.
With a help of traffic police in the town area they arrested a suspect who was seen driving the missing car (Alto) in town.
Police said that, while carrying out an investigation it was found that the same suspect was involved in all the three cases. The suspect is unemployed and staying with his parents in Thimphu.
