Man commits suicide in Bumthang

A 63-year-old man from Lingden, Phuentsholing , Chukha was found hanging lifeless from a blue pine tree on 23 August at around 3:30 PM at Nangar, Chumey, Bumthang. The case was initially reported as Missing of Person (MoP) to Chumey police station.

The deceased went missing from 22 August at around 7:00 PM, said police. Accordingly, police personnel were deployed to search and later the team found the dead body of the MoP hanging above the highway. It was learnt that the deceased had hung himself using a nylon rope.

In addition, it was also learnt that, as per the medical examination, there was no external injuries. The deceased lived alone and with no immediate family members around, his body was escorted to Wangdicholing hospital mortuary.

Police said that the relatives of the deceased were informed, and later the body was handed over to the relatives. However, the case is currently under investigation.
