One dead in an accident

A 22-year-old man from Khamdang, Trashiyangtse died on the spot after the truck he was driving veered off the road in Asnabare, Gedu.

The accident took place 15 km away from Gedu police station May 24 at around half past midnight hour.

He was driving from Phuentsholing to Thimphu with two passengers. The truck veered off the road about 17 meters away from the main road.

One of the passengers, a woman from Mongar, sustained injuries on her forehead, ears and knees. She is kept under observation in Gedu hospital. The driver died on the spot due to head injuries.

The body of the deceased was handed over to his family. The cause of accident is still under investigation.
