One man apprehended for multiple burglaries

A 46-year-old man from Punakha was apprehended by Thimphu police in Changzamtog last month. He is suspected of being involved in 8 different burglary cases that occurred in Taba, Changjiji, Motithang and Chubachu.

He was under the close watch of the police. A police team led by an officer was on a check of the suspect’s house when the suspect was caught red handed while returning to his house from a fresh burglary committed in Kawajangsa.

Police also apprehended three other men linked to the suspect. RBP recovered handicraft items, clothes, power chain and other wooden items (Dapa), but they were unable to recover any cash from him.

Police have also lost items from theft not reported with the police.

The four suspects are under detention and the case is under investigation. RBP is also investigating to ascertain whether other burglary cases so far are linked to the suspect or if other burglars are at large.
