Your chance to win Nu 15 mn, Nu 10 mn or Nu 5 mn on National Day

As a part of a new initiative for the 118th National Day, there will be an online lottery draw called ‘Lucky Pem’ where participants can win a prize of up to Nu 15 million (mn), Nu 10 mn, Nu 5 mn and even Nu 100,000 each.

The condition, however, is that one needs to pay Nu 1,000 through a Digital Kidu (DK) Bank Account and also have the My Bhutan App.

There will be 50,000 participants per pool, where the amount collected will be Nu 50 mn.

Of this, the first winner will get Nu 15 mn, the second winner Nu 10 mn and the third winner Nu 5 mn.

This leaves Nu 20 mn, and here, 200 winners have a chance to win Nu 100,000 each.

If there are 300,000 participants, then there will be 6 pools of 50,000 people each.

This means of the 300,000 people, 6 people would get Nu 15 mn each, 6 would get Nu 10 mn each and 6 more would get Nu 5 mn each. Then 1,200 people would get a chance to win Nu 100,000 each.

When the first pool of 50,000 fills up then the next pool opens up for another 50,000 people.

The special thing about this online lottery is that all the money collected will be distributed back to the people unlike traditional lottery where a chunk of the collected money is kept by the lottery company.

While around 200,000 Bhutanese have DK Bank accounts and Apps, for those who don’t have the app, they can go to their respective App Stores and look for the DK Bank App and download it.

After downloading the App, the only thing, they need to open their DK Bank account is their CID Card which the phone camera can scan and a selfie the camera will take of their front and side profiles. Along with this they need to fill up a very short online form through the App and use the OTP sent to them via SMS and their account is open.

Many Bhutanese have My Bhutan App but one has to make sure it is the updated version and if you do not have it then go to the App Store on your phone and download it.

After making sure you have the My Bhutan App and the DK Bank App then you can wait till 10 am on the morning of 1st December and go to www.lucky.bt and on doing so you have the option to log in using the My Bhutan App, and on clicking it you will be taken to the My Bhutan App which will automatically verify you, and then you need to go backwards to www.lucky.bt. If you have the DK Account, it will take you the lottery area but if you do not have it then it will show you an option to download the App.

On entering the lottery area, you will be shown the 10 pools of the ‘Warm Up Pools’ from 1st December to 10th December and other option is the ‘National Day Pools’.

You can choose either or both.

So, if you want to play the National Day Pools directly then just click on it and you will be taken to the National Day Pool area where you will see an option of a ‘Join Pool’ card with entry fee details under it, and when you click the ‘Pay with DK Bank’ button below, there will be a confirmation message and if you click on it then an OTP will be sent via SMS to your registered mobile number and My Bhutan App.

You have to enter the OTP number in a slot that will come up, and the amount will be deducted from your DK Bank account, and you will get a unique entry number. This entry number will be announced on National Day after a computer randomly selects the entry numbers and if you are the lucky one then Nu 15 mn will be transferred on the same day to your DK Bank account just 30 minutes after the announcement.

The announcement will be made on 17th December from 2 pm onwards every 30 minutes for each pool of 50,000 people.

If you also fancy a warm up lottery game before the big day then click on the ‘Warm Up Pools’ which follows the same process as outlined above.

The difference here is that the entry fee will be Nu 100 but you can apply for all or any of the 10 pools on the first day itself.

There will only be 100 slots on day one (1st December) which means a total prize money of Nu 10,000 that will be given to one winner.

Day two (2nd December) will have 200 slots which have two winners getting Nu 10,000 each.

Day 3 (3rd December) will have 400 slots with three winners getting Nu 13,333.33 each.

Day 4 (4th December) will have 800 slots with four winners getting Nu 20,000 each.

Day 5 (5th December) will have 1,600 slots with five winners getting Nu 32,000 each.

Day 6 (6th December) will have 3,200 slots with six winners getting Nu 53,333.33 each.

Day 7 (7th December) will have 6,400 slots with seven winners getting Nu 91,428.57 each.

Day 8 (8th December) will have 12,800 slots with eight winners getting Nu 160,000 each.

Day 9 (9th December) will have 25,600 slots with nine winners getting Nu 284,444.44 each.

Day 10 (10th December) will have 51,200 slots with ten winners getting Nu 512,000 each.

The results will be announced live by 7.30 pm every day on the Lucky Pem Tiktok account and other social media.

In case of the National Day Pools, if there are 1,000 to 49,999 members in it then the big prizes are not given, but people will get a chance to win Nu 100,000 each.

For example, if there is 1,000 members in a pool meaning Nu 1 mn has been collected then Nu 100,000 will be divided among 10 winners.

If there are 49,999 members then 499 people will get Nu 100,000 each and the remaining Nu 99,000 will be given by the National Day Committee to any charity cause.

If there are only 999 people or less then money will be refunded back.

Lucky Pem Lottery is given technical support by ROM Tech.

There will be a toll-free number of 8888 for those with queries and seeking technical help.

The National Day Pools will open on 1st December 10 am and close on 16th December 8 pm.
