A program to conserve the fast dying water source was started in Guma Gewog two days ago under the initiative of National Environment Commission (NEC). “This program is mainly aimed at preserving the water source,” said Guma Gewog Administration Officer Galley Phuntsho. Twenty five working groups from NEC did a questionnaire survey involving local people in understanding the history and back ground of particular water source. Guma gewog has five chiwogs comprising 400 households will be benefitted by the upcoming program as it will help the farmers in irrigating their fields as well as household consumers.
