His Majesty The King granted an Audience to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, at Tashichhodzong on 2 September 2026.
Dr. Amarasuriya is in Bhutan on the invitation of the Royal Government, to attend the first Global Conscious Food Systems Summit, held in Paro from 31 August – 4 September.
Bhutan and Sri Lanka established formal diplomatic relations in 1987, and have since nurtured friendly relations based on shared Buddhist values, mutual respect and goodwill.
