Accidents Kills one and seriously injures two others

Aman in his late twenties died on the spot yesterday and left his wife, two children and the deceased’s sister injured when the Alto car they were travelling in met with an accident.

The incident took place at around 10 am yesterday while they were travelling back home to Samdrup Jongkhar. According to Nima Tshering, who is the officiating Superintendent of Police (SP) of Phuntsholing, the accident is said to have occurred somewhere in Assam in a place called Padgawong.

Although the sister of the deceased and the elder child are in stable health without any injury, the deceased’s 27 year old wife and the youngest child are said to be in serious condition. It is known that the elder child is 4 years old and the younger is just 6 months old.

They were immediately admitted to Phuntsholing hospital after the accident. Since the condition of the mother and the child are unstable, they are to be referred to the JDWNRH here in the capital as soon as possible.

Nima Tshering said that the exact reason of the accident couldn’t be figured out as of yet. But the most probable and legitimate reason they have considered is over speeding of the vehicle they were travelling in. “There were no other cars that could have bumped into one another, and the roads were also equally in good condition. For now we are assuming over speeding to be the reason for the accident, although investigations are underway to find out the actual reason,” he said.

The deceased was a registrar with Wamrong Dungkhang court who came to attend a workshop in the capital and was returning back home.
