As of yesterday, police in Samtse and Wangdue were still on the lookout for miscreants who burgled two homes and a vehicle in three separate incidents earlier this week.
In Samtse burglars broke into a house of a dzongkhag employee and allegedly stole gold, silver and diamond jewelry worth around Nu 286,000.
The burglars had entered the house by breaking open the main door on the morning of September 12. The incident was reported to the police at around 1:35 pm.
A day earlier in Wangdue, the office of the vice principal of Bajo Higher Secondary School was broken into and two laptop computers, mobile phone, hard drives computer bag and some cash was stolen. In total the burglars stole items worth Nu 142,800 according to the estimates of the vice principal.
Wangdue police also received reports of items stolen from a vehicle parked near the basketball court in Bajo town on the night of 11 September.
The initial report was made on 12 September by 29-year-old man stating that two mobile phones and two pen drives worth Nu 27,900 and Nu 20,000 of Nu 1000 denomination had been stolen.
During the course of investigation, it was found that the driver of the vehicle had not locked the vehicle.
