Double trouble

Eighty households of Yangneer gewog are facing two problems – water shortage since last year, and a housing crunch. They have been working on resolving these issues but in vain. Water shortage becomes more severe in winter when the sources dry up. Since the place is windy with pine trees around the place, the gewog is also vulnerable to forest fires.
