His Majesty visits holy Buddhist sites in Kathmandu

While traveling back to Bhutan from an official visit to Delhi, His Majesty The King stopped over in Kathmandu and visited the Swayambhu and Boudha Stupas on 6th December.

Swayambhu, located atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, is one of Nepal’s most ancient religious sites, steeped in history and legend. Similarly, Boudha, situated in the heart of Kathmandu, is a revered stupa with connections to Guru Rinpoche in a previous life and is regarded as a Jangchub Chorten, symbolizing peace and enlightenment.

His Majesty offered prayers at both sites during the visit.

Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arzu Rana Deuba, received His Majesty at Tribhuvan International Airport. His Majesty thanked the people of Nepal for the very warm welcome.
