Lyonchhen meets New Thai Ambassador to Bhutan November 7, 2012

Ambassador of Thailand to Bhutan, Madurapochana Ittarong, called on the Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley at the Gyalyong Tshokhang yesterday.

Ambassador Madurapochana Ittarong arrived in the country on 4 November to present her credentials to His Majesty the King. Lyonchhen welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated her on being appointed as the Ambassador designate to Bhutan.

He said that he is happy to see the relations between the two countries grow closer and deeper.

The Lyonchhen and the Thai Ambassador discussed several areas of cooperation between the two nations including close cooperation in agriculture sector, technical cooperation for human resource development and collaboration in the areas of arts and crafts.

Ambassador Ittarong said that there will be an annual meeting between the two countries starting this year for more cooperation and support, and to discuss framework within which the relationship between the two nations can be deepened and diversified.

Ambassador Ittarong is on a four-day visit to Bhutan.
