Samtse tops the list, followed by Paro, Trashigang, Sarpang and Wangdue Phodrang, according to the Budget Report



Samtse has received the highest budget allocation among the 20 dzongkhags for the 2026–27 fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Finance’s Budget Report. The total allocation for Samtse stands at Nu 1.83 billion (bn), making it the largest recipient of funds. Paro received the second highest allocation with Nu 1.66 bn, followed by Trashigang with Nu 1.58 bn. Sarpang ranked fourth with a total allocation of Nu 1.55 bn, while Wangdue Phodrang received the fifth highest allocation at Nu 1.44 bn. The figures are based on the total allocation for each dzongkhag, which includes the combined allocation under the budget report for the 2026–27 fiscal year. According to the Ministry of Finance, these are the five dzongkhags with the highest total allocations for the financial year.
Among the 15 gewogs in Samtse, Yoeseltse Gewog has received the highest budget allocation for the financial year 2026–27 with a total allocation of Nu 405.597 million (mn). The allocation is significantly higher than that of the other gewogs in the dzongkhag. Tashichhoeling Gewog has been allocated the second highest amount at Nu 167.372 mn, followed by Denchukha Gewog with Nu 91.368 mn. Norbugang Gewog ranks fourth with an allocation of Nu 72.481 mn, while Norgaygang Gewog rounds out the top five with Nu 45.130 mn.
Among the 10 gewogs in Paro, Dopshari Gewog has received the highest budget allocation for the 2026–27 financial year with Nu 267.805 mn. Tsento Gewog received the second highest allocation at Nu 171.966 mn, followed by Wangchang Gewog with Nu 96.843 mn. Dokar Gewog was allocated Nu 61.039 mn, making it the fourth highest recipient, while Doteng Gewog rounded out the top five with an allocation of Nu 33.341 mn.
Among the 15 gewogs in Trashigang, Khaling Gewog has received the highest budget allocation for the 2026–27 financial year with Nu 129.100 mn. Kangpara Gewog received the second highest allocation at Nu 117.376 mn, followed by Merak Gewog with Nu 95.611 mn. Kanglung Gewog was allocated Nu 90.694 mn, making it the fourth highest recipient, while Sakteng Gewog rounded out the top five with an allocation of Nu 84.744 mn.
Among the 12 gewogs in Sarpang, Serzhong Gewog has received the highest budget allocation for the 2026–27 financial year with Nu 88.388 mn. Gelephu Gewog received the second highest allocation at Nu 53.961 mn, followed by Samtenling Gewog with Nu 43.575 mn. Chhudzom Gewog was allocated Nu 27.414 mn, making it the fourth highest recipient, while Jigmechhoeling Gewog rounded out the top five with an allocation of Nu 26.183 mn.
Gasetshogom Gewog has received the highest budget allocation in Wangdue Phodrang for the 2026–27 financial year with Nu 422.302 mn. Nyisho Gewog received the second highest allocation at Nu 230.063 mn, followed by Sephu Gewog with Nu 43.644 mn. Dangchu Gewog was allocated Nu 39.411 mn, making it the fourth highest recipient, while Thedtsho Gewog completed the top five with an allocation of Nu 38.521 mn.
