Construction Fair and the Royal Visit

Coinciding with the visit of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand to Bhutan, the Construction Association of Bhutan (CAB) held its 7th Bhutan Construction Fair in Thimphu from 25-28th April 2025.

CAB has installed a total of 133 stalls which includes 128 normal stall, 2 gold stalls and 3 silver stalls.

The difference in the stalls is from the levels, the higher the levels, bigger the space.

As of now, from the 128 normal stalls 121 stalls are booked, which includes 108 enterprises from India and 13 from Bhutan.

Both two gold stalls are booked, as one is booked by STCBL and the other by Bhutan Isuzu Motors. Also, the three silver stalls are booked by Perfect TMX TMT, Samden Vehicles and 1 by an Indian enterprise.

Few of the Indian enterprise even have counterparts in Bhutan.

All kinds of construction materials are available starting from housing decorations and kitchen items to steels.

Few of the companies already came prepared for sale if incase customers are willing to purchase the materials.

CAB said that though numerous Bhutanese enterprises were contacted, most couldn’t turn up with no valid reasons as such.  From almost 60 enterprises that were contacted only 13 numbers have turned up.

The expo is conducted every year by CAB mainly to provide an opportunity for the Bhutanese contractors to source construction materials alongside new design materials if need be and items that are not available in the Bhutanese market.
