His Majesty The King, on an ongoing visit to Gelephu, on 19th April visited Jogighopa, Assam where an International Multimodal Logistics Park is under-construction, accompanied by Assam Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah and Chief Secretary of Assam Dr Ravi Kota. His Majesty also toured the nearby Inland Water Transport port.
While in Gelephu, His Majesty visited the integrated check post under construction at the Bhutan–India border.
Earlier, His Majesty granted an Audience to officials of Sarpang and Zhemgang Dzongkhags, as well as officials and the business community in Gelephu.
His Majesty also met with the people of Gelephu, to reaffirm the shared vision for the region’s future. In light of the upcoming Gelephu international airport, His Majesty reassured the community that while change is inevitable, the interests of the people will always come first, and that the development of the entire GMC will be based on smart solutions for the benefit of all.
