PM attends BRCS appreciation program

The Prime Minister graced the Bhutan Red Cross Society (BRCS) Thimphu Branch Volunteer Appreciation Programme, organized to honor the dedication, compassion, and selfless service of BRCS volunteers.

In his address, the Prime Minister expressed deep gratitude to Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen for Her visionary leadership in establishing and nurturing the BRCS into a respected humanitarian institution. He also extended sincere appreciation to the society’s executives and volunteers for their unwavering commitment to supporting communities without expecting recognition or reward.

Recalling the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister highlighted the extraordinary courage demonstrated by volunteers, particularly in managing the dignified burial of the deceased during a period of fear and uncertainty. He noted that in recognition of its invaluable service, His Majesty The King conferred the National Order of Merit (Gold) upon the BRCS on the 114th National Day in 2021.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister thanked all volunteers for their selfless contributions and encouraged them to continue serving the nation with compassion and dedication.
