His Majesty The King on 20th April graced the Salhang Tendrel (groundbreaking) ceremony for the construction of Guru Nangsid Zilnon Lhakhang in Chokhorling, Gelephu.
Located at the heart of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), the Lhakhang is being built under the personal initiative of His Majesty The King. Dedicated to Guru Nangsid Zilnon—a powerful manifestation of Guru Rinpoche believed to dispel all obstacles—the construction of the Lhakhang is intended to bless and ensure an auspicious beginning for GMC, and to bring lasting benefit to Bhutan, its people, and all sentient beings.
The Lhakhang will be modeled after Kurje Lhakhang in Bumthang, which has safeguarded Bhutan through some of the most defining moments in the nation’s history.
