His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and Their Royal Highnesses The Gyalseys and The Gyalsem are in Gelephu Mindfulness City since 25 October ahead of the historic raising of 108 Jangchub Chortens on 1 November, the Descending Day of Lord Buddha.
Preparations are entering their final stages, with thousands of volunteers working tirelessly as people from across Bhutan make their way to Gelephu to take part in this historic occasion.
More than 200,000 people are expected to gather in Gelephu, making it one of the largest gatherings in Bhutan’s history.
Members of the Royal Family, Buddhist masters, and international guests will join the people of Bhutan in prayer and celebration as 108 chortens (stupas) are raised in a single day.
This extraordinary undertaking, bringing together people from all walks of life in a shared spirit of faith, devotion, and service, will mark a significant moment in the history of Gelephu Mindfulness City and the nation.
