Two men arrested for 29 cases of burglary

Thimphu police have apprehended two men in their 20s who burgled 29 shops, restaurants and karaoke bars in the capital over the past few months.

Police arrested the two men, a 23-year old from Wangdue and a 25-year old from Trashigang on the night of May 14. From the suspects, police recovered some dollars, cash, TV and a watch.

It was found that vouchers that had stolen were sold to other shops. They had entered shops, bars and restaurants by breaking the door using pliers and screwdrivers, which was seized from them.

Police also said that in every place of burglary, they recovered empty bottles of the red bull energy drink. Police also recovered few CCTV recorders from the crime scene, which the burglars had tried to destroy.

Both suspects are unemployed.
