Farm road construction delayed after villagers refuse to help
Though the farm road connecting the gewog centre with the Tongsa- Zhemgang highway was initially completed in 2004 the road could not be used effectively during the summer season because of the repeated landslides. So now the road is being realigned.
Earlier the road use to have around 16 to 17 bends and with the realignment, the distance would come down to 2.5 kilometers and is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month..
Approximately 1.8 kilometers of the road has been completed within the last two months. The gewog representatives had to seek help from the Public Works Division(PWD) in the construction as the villagers refused to turn-up for work.
