Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS) hosted its inaugural Professional Internship Drive on 7th November. The event was to connect 355 undergraduate students with leading organisations, offering hands-on experience across six specialised fields: Accounting, Business Intelligence, Finance and Economics, Marketing, Human Capital Management, and Business Management.
The internship drive marks the first initiative under GCBS’s newly launched industry-aligned curriculum, aimed at equipping graduates with both academic knowledge and professional skills created for Bhutan’s evolving economy.
The program reflects the college’s commitment to bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice, ensuring students are prepared to contribute from day one.
President Dalston Pung highlighted the significance of the event, saying, “This isn’t just an internship drive; it’s the launch of a new era for business education in Bhutan. Our new curriculum is a commitment to the nation to produce graduates who are innovative, adaptable, and equipped with the precise skills our industries are seeking.”
The drive also brought together representatives from the government and the private sector, including the Royal Civil Service Commission, Royal Monetary Authority, Yarkay Group Private Limited, Perfect Group, and GMC Companies.
This platform will allow employers to engage directly with a diverse and highly skilled talent pool, promoting partnerships that could shape the country’s future workforce.
