A 350-km farm-road was inaugurated around twoweeks back from Nobgang to Thruelum . The estimated budget for the farm road is Nu 0.2 mn and is expected to benefit 38 households. “Villagers used to walk one to two hours to reach the nearest road point which is usually covered by thick forest during monsoon and there used to be threats from wild life,” said the Gewog Administration Officer (GAO), Tshewang Dorji. The gewog is also planning to extend the road till Lunakha village because it would facilitate greater access to gewog amenities like Basic Health Unit (BHU), community forest and school which are all set up in Nobgang Gewog Centre. GAO Tshewang Dorji also shared that if the plan comes through, students from Lunakha will have to walk only 45 minutes to reach school while before they had to walk one to two hours to reach school at Guma Gewog.
