The Immigration Bureau of Thailand has officially introduced a new online form that must be completed by all foreign travelers entering the kingdom, regardless of whether they arrive by air, land, or sea.
Bhutanese nationals planning to travel to Thailand must also complete the new online form called the Thai Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), according to the latest directive from Thailand’s Immigration Bureau.
According to Thai authorities, the form must be filled out within three days before travel. Bhutanese travelers will need to provide personal and travel-related information such as passport details, flight or transport number, accommodation in Thailand, and a valid contact number.
TDAC is a system introduced as part of Thailand’s efforts to enhance border management, reduce paperwork, and streamline immigration procedures.
Once completed, the system generates a QR code that must be shown at immigration checkpoints upon arrival.
Bhutanese citizens traveling to Thailand for tourism, business, medical, or other purposes are now required to complete this digital form in advance. Thai nationals are exempt from the requirement.
While the TDAC does not replace the need for a visa or other entry permits, it is a mandatory step aimed at making the immigration process more efficient and secure. Failure to complete the TDAC before travel could result in longer processing times at the border or possible denial of entry.
The system is accessible via both desktop and mobile devices and is available in several international languages to assist foreign travelers.
Thailand remains a popular travel destination for Bhutanese, whether for holidays, medical visits, education, or transit. With this new rule in effect, authorities are urging Bhutanese citizens and other foreigners to ensure the TDAC form is submitted well in advance of travel to avoid inconvenience.
